In Luke 20 the final parable of this gospel encapsulates and teaches us the heart of Christ’s message, “that He came from God to claim our allegiance and service, to turn rebel sinners back to God, to turn our lives from self-centered sin to a God-centered salvation” (Richard D. Philips).
