Adult Sunday School

This Sunday in the Adult Sunday School we will begin an extended study in the Westminster Confession of Faith with a survey of the historical background and context of the gathering of the Westminster Assembly in 1643.

All of you are encouraged to bring your copy of the Westminster Standards that was handed out at the Annual Meeting. Our Trinity Psalter Hymnal also has the Standards printed in full, in the back.

It is the Session’s prayer that at least two benefits will arise from our study in the Westminster Confession of Faith:

First, that we will grow in knowing what we believe and why we believe it so that we, as disciples of Christ, will think and act biblically and share our faith with a dying world.

Second, that we as a Session and as a church body, will be able to recognize those men who the Holy Spirit is making overseers/elders (Acts 20:28) as well as those men who are called to serve the church as deacons.

Both ordained offices require from those who will serve, subscription to the Westminster Standards and the Book of Church Order of the OPC.

May the Lord bless His church with our study in the WCF with the fruit of growing and maturing disciples, and elders and deacons to care for His disciples…for His glory and our good.

Sunday School is from 9:45 to 10:40 a.m. followed by morning worship at 11:00 a.m. You are encouraged to return at the close of the day for evening worship at 6:00 p.m.
