Answer. Effectual calling is the work of God’s Spirit, whereby, convincing us of our sin and misery, enlightening our minds in the knowledge of Christ, and renewing our wills, he does persuade and enable us to embrace Jesus Christ, freely offered to us in the gospel.

This morning Rev. Niel Bech will open up Hebrews 4:14-16, where will learn from God’s Word how Jesus Christ entered the Holy of the Holies, as our Great High Priest, to atone for our sins and gain us access to the throne of grace.

This afternoon in John 6:47-58; 66-71, we will hear from Rev. John Vroegindewey how Jesus makes a startling claim in our passage, “I am the bread of life.” The questions remain as true for us as they did for his hearers, “Is He the One for whom our souls do hunger and thirst?” and “Do His words of eternal life benefit our souls?”

Fellowship Luncheon Today: Here is a description of what to expect; following morning worship, we will hold our monthly fellowship luncheon. These delicious luncheons are a potluck meal. We ask everyone who is able to join us to please bring a main dish and a side dish, salad or dessert. Bring enough for you, your family and a friend!
